CARLI Book Digitization Initiative

The collection includes a few examples of library materials digitized for the Internet Archive. The library submitted proposals to the CARLI Book Digitization Initiative to digitize books and journals related to Catholicism in Illinois in 2009 and 2010. Additional proposals in 2011 included books related to regional history and women religious, as well as the history of Roman Catholicism in the United States. To date, 129 items have been digitized.

Carroll Stuhlmueller: Passionist Priest, Biblical Scholar, and Teacher

A priest and religious of the Passionist Congregation, Carroll Stuhlmueller was an internationally recognized biblical scholar and a leading figure in numerous Catholic church movements. He was also the author of 23 books, and served on the editorial boards of the Journal of Biblical Literature and the Catholic Biblical Quarterly. As a founding member of the faculty at Catholic Theological Union, he helped found the Israel Study program at CTU, and traveled and lectured extensively.
